Kingpinless Casters
Kingpinless Casters are a step up from drop forged kingpin style casters and are designed for unsurpassed durability and use in abusive and demanding applications that may cause a non-kingpinless caster to fail.
These casters are called “kingpinless” because they do not have a kingpin that holds the swivel bearing section together, (which is normally the weakest point of a caster). The top Plate and inner raceway are integrally forged as one piece. The inner raceway and outer raceway (which has the legs welded to it) are held together by hardened steel ball bearings, which are installed through a hole in the outer raceway, then welded shut. Caster legs are double welded inside and out for strength & stability.
Using our ultra strong kingpinless caster design we make and stock standard kingpinless casters up to 40,000 lbs. We have even special made a dual wheel kingpinless caster rated at 50,000 lb capacity. Durable USA / Superior Casters, Kingpinless casters, will exceed your expectations! Applications include: Shock load applications and abusive conditions like service carts that may be dropped a by fork lifts, off trucks or ramps. Matching rigid casters and stainless steel kingpinless casters are also available. We also make extended or long offset kingpinless casters ideal for towing.
The capacities of the various series of kingpinless casters are determined by the size, raceway head design, thickness of steel, along with the correlating wheel materials and bearings used in them. The 45 and 47 series kingpinless casters; use the same optional component parts that the 2” wide kingpin style casters (27 and 43 series) which include: Top lock caster brakes, cam style caster brakes, 4 Position swivel locks & thread guards for caster wheels. Floor locks are also available that have the same top plate size and overall height as the 45 series kingpinless casters.
